O meni
Cindy Whitehead Buccowich has a great work ethic, tenacity and perseverance to get the job done. Cindy Whitehead found this to be true, while working as a Southern CA bicycle sales representative and as she embarked on a career of thirteen years road and mountain bike racing. She earned a long list of awards, including but not limited to:
1983 Winner of all CA Intercollegiate Road Racing Races, except one
1986 Winner, no seat – 50 mile “Sierra 7500” (7,500 ft. of elevation changes)
1986 National Cross-country Champion
1988 World Downhill Champion
1989 World Dual Slalom Champion
1990National Downhill Champion
1990 Inducted into Mountain Bike Hall of Fame
1992 National Dual Slalom Champion
1992 UCI Dual Slalom World Champion
1996 National Veteran Downhill Champion
In fact, it was racing that brought Cindy to Durango in 1986 to win her first Mountain Bike National Cross-Country Championship title. Then, she returned annually for all the Durango mountain bike racing competitions, including the 1990 World Mountain Bike Championships at Purgatory Resort. Most of her professional mountain bike racing friends and fellow Mountain Bike Hall of Fame inductees resided in Durango, but she stayed California to live closer to her immediate family. However, by 2004 Cindy Whitehead Buccowich and her husband, Jon, made the decision to relocate themselves and their two kids from CA to Durango to engage in that idyllic lifestyle. Of course, the family found a plethora of year round outdoor activities, and to their pleasant surprise, they also found a place where the kids could grow up experiencing culturally enriching programs. They discovered the Durango Arts Center and Stillwater Music, and a plethora of community events, such as Music in the Mountains, Snowdown -a community celebration of fun and frivolity, Merely Players’ theater performances, and the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic -bike riders pedal over two mountain passes attempting to beat the train to Silverton. Community events happen year round in Durango, and there is definitely something for everyone!
Cindy discovered other ways to serve her hometown, as a business woman and volunteer in many school and community programs. She started up, owned and operated Durango Bicycle Rentals, earned a degree at Pueblo Community College in Rad Tech, led rides for Fort Lewis College’s club riders, enlightened kids as a Volunteer Naturalist and Education Specialist for Durango Nature Studies, serving Riverview, Animas Valley, Florida Mesa, Park and Needham Elementary Schools. She also continues to assist Ski Patrol as a Mountain Host at Purgatory. As evidenced by her passion to entrepreneurial and volunteer endeavors, She exhibits her devotion to the Durango community.
Cindy brings her genuine love and enthusiasm for Durango living and to real estate, while working to serve her clients and close the deal. She understands that as a real estate broker, it is a privilege to help people with their greatest asset purchase. Cindy has a great attitude, is personable, has confidence in her abilities, and is truly interested in helping others. If you or a friend wants to buy into this amazing, incredible town or need to sell some real estate to some lucky buyer, know that she understands the local housing market, will connect with other real estate agents and brokers, and stay up-to-date on the latest news in real estate to service her clients most effectively. In summary, Cindy brings tireless energy, pure honesty, and upmost professionalism to her clients in every real estate transaction.
